However, many trucks pay too much attention to the maintenance of core components such as engines and transmissions, and ignore the maintenance of rubber parts.

As a soft substance, rubber parts are mainly used for the connection and protection between moving parts, and the sealing and insulation of our doors and windows are insulated by rubber sealing strips.
There are also very important tires that are also rubber products. Many card friends know that in winter, tires become stiff at low temperatures, their grip decreases, and in summer, the elasticity of tires will recover.

● Window adhesive strips
Taking advantage of the good weather on this day, Lao Wang was ready to wash the car well. After washing the car, Lao Wang sat in the car and found that the closed window was actually flooded, what is going on?
It turns out that there is a ring of rubber seals around the window glass to isolate the inside and outside of the cab, in addition to sound insulation and noise reduction, it can also protect from wind and rain.
But Lao Wang has a habit of liking to drive with the car window, which leads to a lot of dust and debris accumulating in the sealing strip over time. If you don't develop a good habit of regular cleaning, windows will naturally not be able to close tightly.
Therefore, while cleaning the vehicle, you can use a wet towel or high-pressure gas to clean the sealing strip of the window frame.

● Door seals
In addition to the window seals mentioned above, there are also one or even two layers of seals around the doors to isolate outside noise, dust and rain.
But rubber is one of the most aging components in the car, and over time, these seals will slowly crack or even break.
Some card friends may find that closing the door may require more force to close in winter. This is the effect of rubber products being affected by temperature in winter, the door seal becomes harder, and the elasticity is not as good as before, which is the embodiment of rubber aging.
Aging manifestation: the door is not tightly sealed, and it is easy to creak when bumping.
● Rubber bellows for car doors
Nowadays, more and more trucks are integrated with electric windows, electrically adjustable rearview mirrors, and even electric heating, which greatly improves the driving comfort of cardholders. But at the same time, to power these devices, there are many more wiring harnesses between the cab and the doors. To protect these wiring harnesses, manufacturers put a layer of rubber bellows on the outside of the wiring harness. Over time, this bellows is also prone to aging and cracking, and dust and rainwater may flow into the pipeline, causing equipment failure or short circuit.
Aging manifestation: door equipment failure or short circuit.
● Engine belt, air hose, cooling water pipe
Many of the air and water circuits of our truck engines are connected by rubber hoses, such as the connecting hoses of the intercooler, the inlet and return pipes of the engine cooling tank, etc., all of which are connected by rubber hoses.
If the hoses in these places are aged and cracked, it will cause abnormal operation of the vehicle engine. Therefore, we should pay attention to the aging of these parts during daily maintenance and prevent them early.
In addition, the engine belt of the truck is also worth paying attention to. The belt is not only under the tension of the tensioner wheel, but also responsible for pulling other idlers, water pumps and other equipment, and the operating temperature is also high. Moreover, the belt will also be worn and polluted by foreign objects on the outside of the engine.
Aging manifestations: engine weakness, high fuel consumption, black smoke, high water temperature, abnormal air conditioning work.
● Suspension, tie rod
Nowadays, trucks are becoming more and more advanced, in order to increase the comfort of members and the safety of cargo. Truck manufacturers use a large number of rubber as cushioning in suspensions, connecting rods, and rubber products, including air springs used in high-end tractors, which are also rubber products.
If your truck is prone to metal crashes or rubber crunching while driving, it could be a problem with the tie rod rubber somewhere in the truck.
Aging manifestation: Rubber crunch is prone to bumps, and metal collision sound comes from the suspension.
● Wiper blades
If you find that the wiper blade is not clean when working, there is a jump, or there is an abnormal noise, this means that the rubber of the wiper blade is aging. At this time, it is best for us to replace the wiper blades in time to avoid the situation of not being able to scrape clean in rainy and snowy weather, resulting in a lack of vision and affecting driving safety.
Aging manifestation: wiper is not clean, wiper beats, wiper noise.
● Tires
As the only component in contact with the ground, the importance of tires is self-evident. The tires are also made of rubber, in addition to maintaining the correct tire pressure and regularly cleaning the stones in the pattern, we are also regularly doing four-wheel alignment for the vehicle to ensure that the angle parameters of the tires are correct and avoid abnormal wear.
Aging manifestation: the surface of the tire is cracked, the grip is reduced, it is easy to bulge, and the tire is punctured.

In order to make the vehicle quieter and more comfortable, OEMs are increasingly using rubber parts. Although the maintenance of rubber parts is rarely mentioned in our owner's manual, we should still pay attention to the health of these parts in maintenance.
For doors, window seals, and door bellows, we can use rubber maintenance agent to spray the surface regularly to restore elasticity, prevent cracking, and extend the service life.
For the rubber parts of the engine system, we can clean the surface during maintenance to avoid oil, chemical agents and other chemicals covering the surface, causing the rubber to swell and harden.
Rubber parts such as wiper blades should be replaced as soon as possible when they are old.
For tires, maintain reasonable tire pressure and regularly clean up debris in the pattern.
