our country has introduced national mandatory regulations for the free travel of the steering wheel. According to the provisions of Chapter 6.4 of the national standard "GB7258-2017 Technical Conditions for the Safety of Motor Vehicle Operation", the requirements for the maximum free rotation of the motor vehicle steering wheel are as follows:
1. Motor vehicles with a maximum design speed greater than or equal to 100km/h: 15°
2. Three-wheeled vehicle: 35°
3. Other motor vehicles: 25°
Article 1 of Chapter 6.4 of GB7258-2017 Technical Conditions for Motor Vehicle Operation Safety clearly stipulates that as long as it is a motor vehicle with a design speed greater than or equal to 100km/h, the maximum free travel shall not exceed 15 degrees.
Although the speed limit of our medium and heavy trucks is less than 100km/h, the design speed exceeds 100km/h, so as long as the steering wheel automatically rotates more than 15 degrees, it does not meet the national standard.
