● Air intake grille
The truck engine's radiator tank, intercooler, and air conditioning condenser are all in the front grille. Once the catkins accumulate too much, it will cause the engine to dissipate too much.
The water temperature is too high, which can cause the engine to start in severe cases, which in turn leads to engine wear.
The intake air temperature is too high, causing the engine to decrease in working efficiency and even engine knocking.
The condenser has poor heat dissipation, resulting in a decrease in the cooling effect of the air conditioner and a decrease in the comfort of the driver and passengers.
Solution: Use air guns and water guns to clean the catkins, dust, etc. in the air intake grille in time to avoid poor heat dissipation.
It should be noted that even if the insect net is installed, it must be cleaned in time, otherwise if the insect net is covered with poplar catkins, it will also cause heat dissipation problems.
● Air filter
Unlike dust in the air, poplar catkins are poplar seeds, and there are fibers and fluff rich in oil, which will greatly reduce the intake efficiency and reduce the engine efficiency once accumulated too much. If the air filter is damaged, it can also cause engine wear.
Solution: Clean the air filter in time to avoid poor air intake. It is recommended to maintain and replace the air filter with a new one after the end of the catkin period.
● Air conditioning filter element
Like the air filter, the air conditioning filter element will cause a decrease in air intake after accumulating too much catkins, which may cause the evaporator frost, air conditioner mold, and odor.
Solution: Replace the new air conditioning filter element in time to avoid air conditioning odor.
● Choose a suitable parking spot
Poplar catkins contain relatively rich oil, the fiber fluff of poplar catkins has a large contact area with the air, drifts and accumulates with the wind, is extremely flammable, and the catkins spread extremely fast after a fire, and it is difficult to control once it burns.
On May 2, 2018, a fire caused by poplar catkins broke out in Beijing's Chaoyang District, causing dozens of vehicles to be burned and 100 meters of smoke rising.
Therefore, when we park overnight, we should pay attention to the parking position of the vehicle and avoid places where it is easy to accumulate poplar catkins in corners and trees. When parked with other vehicles, try to keep them away as much as possible.
