Water-cooled radiators have a more official name called heat exchangers. A heat exchanger is a device that transfers part of the heat of a hot fluid to a cold fluid, also known as a heat exchanger.

A common heat exchanger is a plate heat exchanger.
The plate heat exchanger flows through two fluids with different temperatures in a space separated by the wall, and the heat exchange between the two fluids is carried out through the thermal conductivity of the wall and the convection of the fluid on the wall surface. This is the most widely used heat exchanger at present.
To put it simply, it's like putting a cup of hot water in a slightly larger cold water basin to cool down. This heat dissipation method is relatively direct and efficient.
In addition, according to different structures, heat exchangers are also divided into casing type, regenerative type and other structures. Due to the use of mostly plate heat exchangers in automobiles, it will no longer be expanded here.
At present, in the automotive field, whether it is a car or a truck, plate heat exchangers are mostly used as oil radiators.
Taking the oil radiator as an example, there are two disconnected pipes inside the oil radiator. One of the pipelines is the oil oil circuit, and the other pipeline is connected to the coolant circulation pipeline, which is composed of dense thermal fins.
The plate oil radiator seems to be small, but the oil and coolant in the two pipelines can be transferred as much as possible through the overlapping of the plate radiator, and the heat dissipation efficiency is also very considerable.

Water-cooled radiators are not like air-cooled radiators that require high cleanliness. No matter how dirty the appearance of the water-cooled radiator is, as long as the inside is not clogged, it will not affect the heat exchange capacity. But the water-cooled radiator also needs to be maintained, and don't choose low-quality coolant to save a little money.
Disadvantaged coolant not only provides any corrosion protection to the cooling system, but can also cause internal corrosion, rust, and aging rubber parts.
When corrosion occurs in the cooling pipeline, it will block the pipeline and reduce heat dissipation efficiency.
If the sealing rubber ring is damaged by aging, it will lead to serious oil coolant leakage.
When the coolant enters the oil, the coolant decreases, which can cause oil emulsification at best, and the oil loses its lubrication capacity at worst, resulting in engine cylinders, tiles and even scrapped engines.
When oil enters the coolant, it will cause the cooling system to decrease, and gray sludge-like objects will condense on the inner wall and lid of the expanding kettle. Since the specific heat capacity of water is higher than that of engine oil, the mixing of engine oil with coolant will increase the burden on the cooling system.
