As the only part of contact with the road surface, truck tires carry tens of tons of goods on their backs for tens of thousands of kilometers over long distances, and the importance of tires is self-evident.

First of all, let's talk about the basic parameters of the tire, that is, the tire width (tire cross-section), diameter, aspect ratio (sidewall), load class and speed class.
Unlike truck tires, passenger car tires are marked in millimeters in width. In truck tires, there are both millimeter units (metric) and feet (imperial), but other parameters are basically the same. 1. 175/75R16LT is the parameter of the tire. Among them, 175 indicates the cross-sectional width of the tire, that is, the contact width between the tire and the ground is 175mm.
75 indicates the flat ratio of the tire, which is the ratio of the height from the rim to the tread to the tread width, expressed as a percentage.
R stands for radial tires, and 16 means that the tire has an inside diameter of 16 inches.
LT stands for light-duty truck tires.
2、8P. R.97/94Q is an additional parameter of the tire, of which 8P.R. represents 8 layers, which can be simply understood as the strength of the tire, the larger the number, the higher the strength, it should be noted that the layer is not completely consistent with the actual number of ply layers.
97 means a single tire load of 730kg, and 94 means a twin tire load of 670kg.
Q is the speed level, and the corresponding speed is 160km/h. The specific comparisons are shown above.
M+S where M is the abbreviation of English Mud-Terrain, which means "mud", and S is the abbreviation of English Snow, which means "snow".
This means that the tire is suitable for use on ice, snow and muddy roads, generally it has a very thick lateral or block pattern, the grip is better, but the driving resistance and noise are larger, and it is generally used as an off-road tire.
3. LT still means that the tire is a light truck tire.
4. 3C compulsory certification. China's compulsory certification means that the quality is proper.
5. DOT JUET 2CL, which means that the tire meets the DOT standard, DOT is the meaning of the U.S. Department of Transportation certification, usually followed by a string of numeric letters, which represent the origin information and factory code of the tire.
6. The production date of the tire. There are a total of 4 digits, the first 2 digits indicate the number of weeks the tire was produced, and the last 2 digits indicate the year, and the tires in the picture are produced in the 24th week of 2019.
In view of the fact that the life of tires is generally about 5 years, you must read the production date clearly when buying tires to avoid buying stock tires.
7. E4, which is the ECE mark of the EU certification regulations. This means that the tire complies with EU standards.
8. The product model of the tire represents a series of products of the tire manufacturer, such as Michelin - Tough and Michelin.
9. TUBELESS STEEL BELTED, in which TUBELESS means tubeless, commonly known as atomic tire or vacuum tire, this kind of tire has no inner tube and cushion belt, it is the use of the inner wall of the tire and the inner liner of the bead to ensure good air tightness between the tire and the rim, and the outer tire also plays the role of the inner tube. STEEL BELTED stands for semi-steel radial tires.

11. Represents the maximum load coefficient of the tire, the tire pressure parameters, as well as the composition structure and the number of layers of the tread and sidewall.
MAX LOAD SINGLE 730KG refers to the maximum single tire load of 730kg.
MAX LOAD DUAL 670KG refers to the maximum twin load of 670kg.
TREAD PLIES, which refers to the structure of the tread. 2 POLYESTER 2 STEEL 1 NYLON means that the tread is composed of 2 layers of polyester carcass, 2 layers of steel wire and 1 layer of nylon. In addition, common tire composition materials include POLYAMIDE polyamide.
