The side guardrails are no joke and may be life-saving at a critical moment
Driving safety has always been the most heard topic by cardholders every day, and there are many reasons for safety accidents. Large trucks are more prone to accidents than small cars, because trucks have greater volume and mass, which means that they have greater blind spots and more safety risks.
● Clear regulations and mandatory installation
With the tightening of regulations, trucks without side guards are now almost invisible on the road. Because if a truck or trailer has an accident such as a rear-end collision, it is easy to cause casualties, the vehicle will be damaged, and the vehicle will be destroyed and killed, so there is a big difference between whether a protective fence is installed or not.
The side and rear underrun protection requirements for trucks, special operation vehicles and trailers have been clearly stipulated in the GB11567 and later GB7258 that began in 1994, and the total mass of trucks (except semi-trailer tractors), special operation vehicles and trailers modified by truck chassis should be provided with side protection to prevent personnel from being involved in accordance with the regulations.
● Important role: Safety first
It is well known that large trucks produce an inner wheel difference (the difference between the turning radius of the inner front wheels and the inner rear wheels) when passing through a corner, and the longer the wheelbase, the larger the turning radius. In particular, there is a large blind spot in the tractor model, and it is extremely easy to scratch the target next to the body in the process of turning. Once it scratches a pedestrian or an electric vehicle, it is very likely to cause the tragedy of crushing. The installation of side guards can play a certain role in safety assistance for such situations, but can not be completely avoided, so cardholders should pay more attention to safety in daily driving.
In addition to mitigating the risk of pedestrians being caught under the car, the side fence also plays a certain role in protecting parts such as fuel tanks, and can also alleviate casualties caused by small vehicle collisions.
The side fence is required to be installed by regulations, and if it is disassembled on the road without permission, it will be punished by the traffic police, and it is an illegal modified vehicle that cannot pass the annual review. If there are no side guards, there will be some safety hazards. The chassis of the truck is usually higher than the hood of the small vehicle, and if the truck without side guards is equipped with a collision with the small vehicle, the small vehicle is very likely to get under the truck due to the high kinetic energy, resulting in tragedy. Pedestrians are also more likely to be swept under the car, which is extremely harmful to society.
Nowadays, through the mandatory requirements of laws and regulations and the continuous upgrading and improvement of car companies, the safety of vehicles is constantly improving. Many car companies upgrade the traditional steel protection to aluminum alloy when the vehicle leaves the factory, which not only has higher strength, but also lower weight.
At the same time, the impact beam at the rear of the vehicle also plays a very important role, and the regulations also clearly require that it must be installed. However, in the past, many truck drivers changed the rear crash beam to be able to move forward and backward for the convenience of loading and unloading. This does facilitate the loading and unloading of goods, but it changes the structure of the rear anti-collision beam, resulting in the failure of the anti-collision beam, and has a very large safety hazard.
There are relevant regulations and standards for the installation of rear impact beams on trucks. Its main function is to prevent small vehicles from getting under the bottom of the truck when they are rear-ended, resulting in the tragedy of car destruction and death. Vehicles with rear impact beams installed in accordance with regulations can effectively reduce the losses caused by rear-end collisions of small vehicles, thereby improving safety.
Although with the advancement of science and technology, vehicles have become safer and more efficient in terms of hardware and software configuration, but cardholders still have to put safety first. Usually every part of the vehicle has a meaning when it is used, and I hope that all cardholders will strengthen the inspection awareness of the vehicle to avoid potential safety hazards.
