▎Lane Departure Warning System and Forward Collision Warning System

In fact, truck drivers are not unfamiliar with these two active safety systems, which have already become common safety equipment in mid-to-high-end medium and heavy trucks.

The Lane Departure Warning System, as the name suggests, is a safety system that will issue an alert to remind the driver if the vehicle deviates from its lane abnormally. In the freight industry, fatigue driving is common, and many traffic accidents occur because drivers are fatigued or inattentive, causing vehicles to deviate from the normal driving lane. With a lane departure warning system, drivers can be alerted in such situations, thereby avoiding accidents.

Front Collision Warning System: Its function is to constantly monitor the vehicle ahead through the radar system, determine the distance to the car in front, and issue an alert if the distance is too close, helping the driver avoid a rear-end collision.

▎Right-Side Blind Spot Warning Device

Because trucks have large blind spots and issues like inner wheel swing, they are prone to safety accidents when making right turns. Right-side blind spot elimination warning equipment was created to address this problem. It generally includes in-vehicle display screens and external radar warning equipment. The in-vehicle display screen can monitor the situation on the right side of the vehicle in real time, helping the driver reduce visual blind spots. In addition, if the external radar warning device detects an obstacle, it can issue an alert at any time to remind the driver.

Retarders are probably not unfamiliar to everyone. As an auxiliary braking device, their use in commercial vehicles has become increasingly widespread in recent years. Common types on commercial vehicles include engine retarders and hydraulic retarders. Retarders can help heavy trucks brake on long downhill slopes, preventing frequent use of brakes that causes wear and overheating, which can lead to brake fade and brake failure, effectively enhancing driving safety.

The engine retarder includes engine exhaust brake, engine compression brake, etc.; engine braking is mainly used during low-speed driving, but it should be noted that it is prohibited to drive on slippery roads; the hydraulic retarder is more effective when used at high speeds. If you often drive on mountainous roads, it is recommended to optionally equip with an engine brake and hydraulic retarder, so that braking safety requirements can be met for both high-speed and low-speed driving.
