It's not easy for one person to run a car; don't take these issues lightly.

The day before yesterday, I saw in a WeChat group that a truck friend’s brakes had frozen and he couldn’t start moving. He hadn’t even pulled the handbrake, and he took a thermos of hot water to pour over the brake calipers. The brakes thawed, and the truck could move, but before he could get out, the wheel ran over him!

Truck friends, please be careful. You are the pillars of your families. Your wives need their husbands, your children need their fathers, and how could your elderly parents bear the pain of losing a child prematurely?

Profits in the trucking industry are shrinking day by day. When trucks used to run, each vehicle had at least two people. Now, due to reduced profits, many drivers are on their own, driving all over the country. You’re working hard! As in the video with that truck friend, he was probably alone in the truck. He couldn’t find anyone to stay in the cab and watch, so he had to take the risk himself to pour hot water on the brakes.

Does he not know the danger of the trailer rolling away? Of course he knows! It's just that circumstances forced him into it. I guess in such a situation, insurance companies might not even compensate. This is a crisis for this industry and also a crisis for our society. One must take this seriously and not be complacent.

Look at this person, he can drive and let the trailer come loose—how reckless is that? Fortunately, there was no vehicle in front, so nothing serious happened. But if there had been a car ahead, what would have happened? It could have turned into a joke!

The structure of the trailer hitch is very simple, and all truck driver friends know this. At the bottom is a saddle seat, a horseshoe-shaped wear-resistant steel plate that can swing. The pressure of the trailer rests entirely on this flat plate. Its center has a semi-circular hole with a notch, the hole walls made of impact-resistant forged steel. Below the hole is a rotatable U-shaped plate. Behind the U-shaped plate is a forged steel stop plate 2cm thick and 15cm wide, which can move left and right within a reversing slot.

Once the stop plate is pulled aside, the opening of the U-shaped plate will face backward. When the trailer kingpin enters the semi-circular hole, the U-shaped plate's opening rotates to the side. At this time, the rear stop plate automatically returns under the action of a spring, pressing tightly against the side of the U-shaped plate, positioning the trailer kingpin between the U-shaped plate and the semi-circular hole.

At this place, they usually check when applying butter; if there’s no butter left on the board, the contact surface with the trailer will rub directly, making a piercing metal scraping sound. Extra attention must be paid to the connection of the trailer during detachable trailer transportation to prevent this kind of accident!

Also, when transporting vegetables or other green channel goods, because the loading height is relatively high, extra care should be taken when covering the truck with a tarpaulin. Sometimes, green channel cargo can be about four to five meters off the ground, and if it’s exposed, it’s even more dangerous. You never know when a strong gust of wind could blow someone off the top of the truck.

One year, I was loading potatoes at Shahukou. After the truck was loaded, it was time to cover it with a tarpaulin, so I got on. My tarpaulin had small ropes on both ends, and there was a hole on the tarp. I threaded the small rope through the hole from one side to the other, joining the front and back edges of the whole tarp. Once the tarp was in place, pulling the two rope ends under the truck would tighten it.

At that time, I was on top of the truck, holding one corner of the tarp and walking from the front to the back. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind came. The force of the wind on the tarp was really strong! Seeing that I couldn’t hold on, I let go. The tarp flew away, but that small rope was still in the back, whipping around my wrist like a snake. Even now, my wrist still bears the mark left by that small rope! It could have been much worse. If that rope had formed a loop around my wrist, I think I would have been lifted off the ground!

Friends who drive trucks, please be extra careful. Safety first!
