刹车又是特别容易被人忽视的一部分

今天

我们就说道说道刹车那些事儿~

▎Abnormal Noise When Braking

When you press the brake, the braking system may emit a sharp, piercing metal grinding sound.

Cause: This could be due to worn brake pads, pitted brake pads, foreign objects in the brake pads, or rust on the brake discs.

Solution: Regularly check the brake pads and brake discs.

Compared to the vehicle's power performance, the braking performance, that is, the brake performance, directly affects driving safety and is directly related to the safety of yourself and others while driving. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a good habit of regularly checking the brake pads and brake discs.

Generally, brake pads need to be replaced after 30,000 to 40,000 kilometers, and brake discs need to be replaced after 60,000 to 70,000 kilometers. The specific timing should also be determined according to the driver's usage habits and maintenance condition.

▎Brake Pedal Travel Becomes Longer

Longer travel can be simply understood as softer brakes.

Causes: Mainly due to air entering the brake system, lack of brake fluid, possible leaks, or severely worn brake pads.

Solution: Regularly inspect the brake system.

The brake system is crucial for the driving safety of trucks. Small trucks mainly use hydraulic brakes to transmit braking force, while heavy trucks use pneumatic brake systems. Different maintenance methods should be used for the two types.

Small trucks: Brake fluid should not be reused; all brake fluid drained from the system should be discarded.

Heavy trucks: Among the maintenance items for the brake system, regularly checking the brake fluid level is the most important. At least check once a month; more frequent checks are even better.

▎Brake Becomes Hard

Many truck drivers encounter situations where the brakes become hard!

Cause: Mainly due to vacuum booster failure, which results in no brake assistance, and frequent brake pressing.

Solution: Regularly check the air brake system and brake fluid.

For the air brake system, pay attention to regularly removing accumulated water from the system and periodically replacing the dryer. Moisture in the air system can corrode the pipes and affect braking performance, and in severe cases, it can even lead to brake system failure.

For trucks with hydraulic brakes, check the brake fluid level before driving. If the fluid level drops, immediately check for leaks in the brake lines. If air bubbles appear in the brake fluid or the fluid becomes dirty, it indicates that the brake fluid has deteriorated. Replace it as soon as possible, ideally changing the brake fluid once a year.

Brake pedal rebound when braking

Many truck drivers have encountered this situation, where the brake pedal rebounds against the foot when pressed.

Cause: The main reasons are uneven surfaces of the brake disc and brake pads, or deformation of the wheel rim.

Solution: Regularly check the brake pads and wheel rims.

The wheel rim plays a crucial role in braking, so it is essential to check the anti-rust lubricant on the contact surface of the rim. If any problems are found, replace it in time.

As the saying goes, vehicle maintenance should always be the priority. During the use of a truck, all components are bound to experience wear and tear, so it is essential to properly maintain each part regularly to preserve their respective functions, ensuring they won't fail at critical moments.

Brake Maintenance

Affects braking and impacts safety

When performing routine maintenance, brakes must be attended to with utmost care.
